PEAR database program abstraction layer?

Hii,
I've used free hosting for quite a while now (Adnaced plan); and I was wondering if you had compiled PHP with PEAR as it can make it easier and quicker to code PHP/MySQL communications.

It's not a major problem if you haven't it's just that I only recently started coding PHP with MySQL communications.

Seems to work great. I've only done a few basic selects, but everything looks fine.

Sorry to revive such an ancient thread, but it appears that PEAR db hasn't been installed on the new server causing my small amount of db code to not work atall.

Canyou re-install it please?
