i know you normal dont support third parthy apps but it doesnt go over the third party apps

it goes over perl :) (totaly differend then third party apps :) )

when i try to install a forum then i got the problem that i got (when in map csi-bin) a 403 error (forbidden acces) and when i set it in my root dir (www/... ) then i got a 500 error

when i do (in the csi-bin) csi-bin/.../Setup.pl then i get a 500 error to :S

so the question i wanna ask is ....... where do i need to put the file in .. just in www dir or ?? in the csi-bin dir ??

then when i know that (maybe i dit something wrong ) then got some1 a explanation why i get the 500 errror (its not only whit this file , i got it before whit my flat text based forum to ^^ when i tryed to install that but after refresh and after a suspension (to high cpu usage) it was back normal :) )

i know you guys got lot of work to (srry offtopic this question ) :metallicb but can you please fix the account pending (for over 2 weeks now or more , not sure about it :p ) so i dont need to look for some perl or textbased or php only forums :S

ok this was the problem i got (never used perl or that stuff before only php and mysql (automated like a forum) so thats why i ask it ...do i need to do something special ... do it need a special activation (like php upgrade ) .... do it need a special map ... and more and more and more

But still i Wanna Thank X10Hosting for the Great support and Hosting (specialy hosting ) becouse i searched (when pending php upgrade) for other hosts whit mysql and php but from the 15 i tryed no1 seems to work right (Cant connect to database is username right cant creat tables in mysql ..... you get what i mean ^^ )

ok thats all i wanted to say (srry if you think it is spamm )

Greets From Team Dread Clan :) and look on my website if you wanna see what i mean (i post a link if you want to the perl script )

*edit* here is the link
http://forums.x10hosting.com/free-hosting/29083-all-those-using-perl-cgi.html#post183285

Then do the steps he says
then when on step to (go to the site as mod :) ) then click test page
after that click test 2 and you get the same error what i get (error 500 )

i hope this helps to

Re: Perl Problem (i know you normal dont support 3th party apps but this is differend

the perl scripts probably need to go in the /cgi-bin/ directory. There should not be a csi-bin. Forbidden access most likely means you need to modify your .htaccess file or change your permissions on the file to maybe 775
