PhP confusion

Hi there

I have read and poked arround the forum and found one post where a person had resolved their php issues, but did not give a clear definition as to how they did it, and being new to php its :dunno:

This is the error I get:
Warning: mysql_error(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/tanya/public_html/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 330

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

The other person said something about permissions etc not a clue totally dumfounded.
Please could someone poke my old brain in the right direction, it would be much appreciated

That probably means that you're not connected to the MySQL database. Are you sure you have created a MySQL database and ALSO configured the app properly (username / password / database name )
