PHP Version Upgrade

I tried to upgrade my PHP version, but I got this message:
An error occurred with your PHP version change request. Try again later or contact x10Hosting. (Code 4)

Next to the Basic PHP configuration, it says "Upgrade pending".

Does that mean it worked, or it will be upgraded automatically?

Im unsure about this one, but i would say x10 havent recived a php request from you, i would try and post a support ticket at http://support.x10hosting.com

This has happened many times and it will be resolved when you talk to a member of staff unfortunally this is community support and we cant change your version
