I'm trying to load a very small (tournament/ladder) php site. I think the php files were originally written to be compatible with php v4

My site loads up fine but when I go to logon as admin nothing happens. Is there a way to downgrade the php on my site from 5 to 4.

Probably not unless they decide to install both version concurrently ( Cpanel does support this but its a payne)

No, since they announced the end of life for PHP 4 we won't be doing anything to try to support it.
