phpBB integration??

Is there any way whatso ever of being able to intergrate phpBB forums into a different web page outside of the forums themselves?

I want to create a splash page which displays the Most recent annoucement and most recent topics/posts

I just wanted to know if this was possible or not, and if so how would I go about doing that.

Yes, you can do that.
You need to know PHP & MySQL...
Ask in phpBB forums, maybe they've a script or sth to make it easier.
