phpbb3 still wont work (tried all help on here still not working)

hopefully someone can explain how to sort this...

I've tried all the help on here: upgraded my php, installed in the right directory, set permissions, added database,etc... and i still get a 404 error.

I even get the 404 on other peoples boards which they claim work.

anybody any ideas???

Seems to be a problem on your end, then.

404 means u are looking for your forum at some wrong address.

Can you please tell us if you are trying it at your local machine or the web(internet)?

If web(and at x10hosting), then you don't need to worry about php as it's fully compatible with phpbb3.

I just installed phpbb3 forum just a few days back and it was a smooth process to install it.

Can you please elaborate more on your exact problem scenario??

I thought i possibly might just be going to the wrong address, but ive tried all i can think of

I have installed one of these boards before with no problems so im not sure whats up this time.

its located at: http://www.101a.x10hosting.com/forum/install/index.php

I have set permisions (777) for the Cache, store, files, and upload in the images folders.

at the moment i'm trying to actually setup the data base, but every time i try it gives me an error 404. even when in x10hosting filemanager and clicking the page url on the right hand side.

it does say this in my cpanel:

[an error occurred while processing this directive]
[an error occurred while processing this directive]

And even though i have set all the permissions for the user on the database it still says:

Create new database: Documentation
No Privileges

not too sure what this is about either.

Your site seems to be redirecting to the x10hosting.com page - if thats the case you could be suffering like many others with a redirection issue so its not actually looking at your files.

what can i do to rectify this matter? i would really like to get this forum up and running. does this mean ive got no hope of it working?
