Please compile mbstring library

I would like the mbstring library to be installed because I would like to install limesurvey aka phpSurveyer. I have tried installing it automatically with fantastico but each time it failed. I imagine it is because I don't have mbstring. Am i correct in this thinking???

mbstring library is installed on your server, I just verified that.
