take your index html out of the folder it's in and move it to home/hpaltemaa/public_html
add the images to home/hpaltemaa/public_html/images

Thats only if you don't have a main index.html If you have a public_html/index.html and it's the basic one you start out with, delete that and put the one you made in it's place.

www.hpaltemaa.x10hosting.com
I went and checked for a base index.html and you don't have one just thought i would let you know that.

Hi, i don't seem to get it working even though the index.html is in /home/public_html/ directory. When accessing

http://hpaltemaa.x10hosting.com/

I get these folders:

Index of /

Name Last modified Size Description

Parent Directory 08-Sep-2007 22:44 -
cgi-bin/ 31-Aug-2007 00:31 -
rvadmin/ 08-Sep-2007 22:44 -
Apache/1.3.39 Server at absolut.x10hosting.com.zz Port 80

which don't exist in my public_html directory, what am I doing wrong?

That is odd. You need to have an images folder for all your images. the rosewood.jpg needs to be in it.

It's reading a file somewhere by the looks. From the screenshot it should read the index.html file.

Go up a folder and take a screenshot.

Also black out your url link at the top. so it doesn't show any info. or just cut it out so you have no link in the URL box .

Here is my suggestion. Delete the folder hpaltemaa, delete the index.html and the jpg.(only if you have a saved copy on your pc)

I would then upload the files directly to the public_html. Using an FTP. Now if in your index.html you have them images set to be found some place like this images/rosewood.jpg, make sure you have a folder named images. If it's named themes/rosewood.jpg make sure the image folder is named themes.

Do not upload the folder itself upload the files in the folder.

Also i need to see what is on the box to the right not the one on the left.

click the public_html on left and show me what you have on the right.

I now did it with ftp, deleted everything and included a new sample index.html and /images folder (created from ftp program)

the result: nothing changed. I still don't see anything else from outside html. Maybe moderators could tell what's wrong?

Thanks for the help...

Your HTTPD entry was missing for some reason. I recreated it. Thanks for trying to help Chris.
