Could someone help me with the following problem:

I tried to install a component with Joomla Component Installer, but received the following alert:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@olavi.x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

As advised in this forum earlier I made sure that all files and folders in my site have permissions 755. I also upgraded my php to intermediate but still no luck.

Any ideas anyone?

Any other ideas?

It can take up to 12hs for PHP changes to take effect (you upgraded this morning).
Please wait 6hs more and if you still get the error post back in this thread.

Thanks, I'll try that when I can access my site again (seems to be down at the moment).

I did already get a confirmation email about the php upgrade before trying again, but fingers crossed it works after my site is up again.

I'll let you know it goes...

Edit:
You were right, it works like a charm now!

I was just a bit hasty, I guess.

Thanks a lot for your help! I really appreciate this forum, you can get great advice and tips really quickly! It makes things a lot easier for amateurs like me.

Cheers, Olavi
