Did you fill in "blah de blah" or is that what it is really trying to use?

Either way, that is telling you the user you are trying to use to connect to the database is not authenticating. Make sure when you created the database in cPanel you also created a user, and then assigned that user to the database with permissions.

I actually put in the correct database name. I created the database using the MYSQL Wizard, database1 was the real name. Then I went to the url queretaro.x10Hosting.com/catalog/install and that opens the oscommerse page, the problem then occurs trying to connect to the database.

I'll retry it.

I'm still getting the following:-
"There was a problem connecting to the database server. The following error had occured:

Access denied for user 'Kevin2'@'74.86.133.216' (using password: YES)", to no avail.

I have tried recreating databases and users will all permissions selected

Well, Kevin2 wouldn't work as your user name is kevriggs. So it would be kevriggs_MySQLUSERHERE

For example if I create a user name of staff under my cPanel account named corey my MySQL username would then be corey_staff.

You would also use localhost for the DB server, not the IP.

Getting there (its importing database structure 5 mins so far, and there is an error on page). I had tried the full username and database names also, it was the IP that fixed it. I had tried the IP then mysql.....something whatever I could find suggested on the forums. Thanks for the help.

Its grinding me down. That operation never completes.

The problem now is that the database import never completes.

"

The database structure is now being imported. Please be patient during this procedure."

You're importing a big database?
Upload it to your root directory and we'll import it for you.

Upgrade your PHP version to intermediate.

You can do this from your account panel, http://x10hosting.com/login <-- Use your FORUM user\pass. On the bottom left there is an area to upgrade.

Fedlerner, thanks for the reply, in fact it's an empty database.

Corey, I did as you suggested a week ago (apply for enhanced php) and the request is still pending, maybe I've slipped through the net.

He told you to upgrade to "Intermediate" and not to "Advanced".
What problem are you having now? You still can't upload your database? Or you can't make the script work?
