Hi,

I have a registered domain 'wanghao.name'. I have changed the domain option in account panel to this domain. But I can't set the DNS server to ns1.x10hosting.com or ns2.x10hosting.com. Their customer service told me that it's because x10hosting's DNS server doesn't support '.name' domain. Is that true?

I am wondering if there is a way to solve this. Can I set my domain pointing to the web server's address? Thank you.

I don't know whether X10Hosting DNS Servers supports .name extensions or not. If they're NOT supporting .name, you can host your domain DNS with your registrar itself and create an A record for domain pointing to Server IP Address in which your account is hosted (You can get this IP from cPanel).

That's actually what I am doing now. I found the IP 74.86.116.187 from my account panel, and create an A record for my domian pointing to this IP. But it seems it doesn't work. When I go to my domain 'wanghao.name' in browser, it was directed to the home page of x10hosting.com. Any idea about this?
Edit:
It's really strange. I just found that although I can't open any web page under my site with my domain name 'wanghao.name', but I can open the Cpanel X with 'wanghao.name:2082'.

Yes... After you have parked your domain, you can use your domain to connect to your cPanel, FTP, etc,.

You had the domain as parked and main domain.. This could have messed up the configurations.
I've unparked it, and fixed the domain to be your main domain.

The problem could be that your domain is pointing to:
Name Server ID: 1046302HOST-NAME
Name Server: DNS1.HICHINA.COM
Name Server ID: 1046303HOST-NAME
Name Server: DNS2.HICHINA.COM
It should be pointing to:
ns1.x10hosting.com (74.86.117.243)
ns2.x10hosting.com (74.86.117.241)

x10hosting DOES support .name domains, and has no restrictions for any domain.

Thanks for your help. I still have problem setting the DNS server of my domain to x10hosting's DNS server.

As kajasweb mentioned, I created an A record of my domain pointing to the web server which worked for a while. But after I upgraded to PHP intermediate version. I changed the A record pointing to the new IP showed in my account panel. Then it becomes not working, and is directed to x10hosting's home page. I am not sure what the problem is.

Your should have A record to the IP address shown in your cPanel, (I don't know whether AMP shows any IP of your account.)

All the best

I think that's where I went wrong. I used the IP showed in Server Status. I just changed it to Shared Ip Address found in Cpanel. Let's see if it works. Thanks, man.
Edit:
Yes, it works.
