hwy guys i just have quick question. when say your site got hacked or you want to move your site to a different server, which backups to you have to download so when you restore it. it will restore back to normal like nothing happened? is the home directory backup and mysql backup are all you need?

I would just say to get a FTP client, and download everything in public_html/, then go into PHPMyAdmin, and export all of your database into a zip. I myself have never used the "home directory backup" thing in cpanel.

That's what I do and it works fine. :-D

Better make a home backup as well as a backup for each database. I think there is no such thing as restoring a backup that creates the databases and makes everything work normal, only the full backup, but that must be restores by an admin, and I don't think Corey has time to do that.

If I lost everything on my account right this second, I have the sufficent backups to "fix" everything and make it that exact same way it was last night at 11pm.

With PHPMyAdmin you can export everything possible, and set the options to create the databases. So all you would have to do is upload the file/zip as a database backup, and there ya go.
