I wanted to know if I upgrade to a paid subscription, will I be able to make my own 404 error messages via .htaccess?

Not sure about that, but you can via. cPanel I believe.

There are no restrictions in the Paid Plans, so you'll be able to create & configure your own error pages.

We do not restrict HTTP error pages what so ever for paid accounts. If you have further questions please re-open this thread or create a new one.
