question about registry editing in windows

lets say if i create a restore point, and do some registry editing/cleaning up, and i delete a registry entry and ends up messing up my computer. if i load the restore point i made earlier, will everything be back to normal?

also, any softwares you all recommend for cleaning up the registry?

System Restore usually fixes just about anything I've messed up in the past, although I have never tried editing my registry... I'd check download.com for software if you haven't already.

Yes it should restore the registry with no problems. Try using Regseeker (google it) Its freeware and is an awesome program.
