QUESTION: what does server load mean?

I was wondering what the server load means in the server status in the Account Panel:
(see the red arrow)

Also, I noticed that the load has been rising lately...

this is just how hard the server is working. if the server load is high generally your site is going to be slow to load and to do things. This is because the server is having to work hard to keep working as fast as possible for everyone.

that's not really a good thing

What do you mean by risings? it's probable that you're just looking at it during a peak period. Which is of course when the site is under the most stress.

We've been having some issues on Stoli. That is why the load has been high.
