Hello!

I have some questions before registering here at x10hosting.

1. Are bilingual websites allowed?
In "Terms of Service" it says that "
Language Restriction At this time we only support sites that are in English, Spanish, or French. Sites not in one of these languages will be suspended.". But if my website is in english AND romanian, I guess that shouldn't be a problem, right?
2. Can I query a game server for stats? A simple UDP connection, sending and recieving a few packets, caching the result (the queries are sent every 60 seconds).

Thank you!

1) As long as all of the content is available in either English, Spanish or French (and there's an obvious way to get to the supported language version) then you can use just about any language you want. (Except, probably, Turkish. It's not that x10Hosting has anything against Turks, but that Unicode problems with the Turkish alphabet make web sites in Turkish a real pain to set up and run without a lot of bugs, and as a low-usage language, it's usually not sitting at the top of anyone's bug-fix priority list.) The language requirement is in place because x10Hosting has to be able to reasonably ensure compliance with laws (and stated policies) concerning things like copyright infringement, prohibited hate speech, child sexual exploitaation (which includes text, not just images), cracking and so on. They can check the validity of your translation using machine translation, but as I'm sure you're aware, machine translation by itself leaves an awful lot to be desired.

2) You can query external servers, but it would have to be an HTTP request using something like curl. If there's no HTTP-based API for the query, you're out of luck. Ports other than those used for HTTP and mail (SMTP) are not open and will not be opened due to the potential for abuse (they'd have to be server-wide rather than per-account). And every sixty seconds would be out of the question; crons cannot run more frequently than every 5 minutes (300 seconds) on Free Hosting, and scripts/programs that run continuously are prohibited.

2. I guess than I'll just use another free webhosting which keeps something like a "query server for port 7777" and I'll query that one via HTTP.
