Hey everybody, X10 sounds good, but I've still got some doubt I hope to clear hereby.

1) Would a download portal be permitted if (Note well!) that the files are NOT stored on the site itself, but downloadable via external links. Those links will be checked for threats, copyright issues or anyhing against TOS or user safety.

2) Is the php mail function active? If yes, are there any limits (like mails / hour etc.)

3) It may be a stupid question, but when I tried out the free hosting singup I didn't notice the possibility to use my own domain. Is it my mistake or is it actually not permitted?

Thanks!

1. if they violate the TOS then NO even though they are not hosted here. Tos --> http://x10hosting.com/tos.php
2. yes, mail() is enabled. limit is 100/hour
3. yes, you can use your own domain. Login to acount panel http://x10hosting.com/control and click on hosting menu at the top and then select modify service.

So if they are not against the TOS this tipe of site is permitted, and I'm responsible for checking the downloads for irregularities?

If your site only meant for file sharing then it is not permitted. Read the TOS carefully.

The files he is talking about will not be kept on x10hosting. He site will merely supply links to the downloads.

If the links are pirated softwares or warez site links then it violation of TOS.

Warez: Includes pirated software, ROMS, emulators, phreaking, hacking, password cracking, IP spoofing, etc... This also includes any sites which provide "links to" or "how to" information about such material.

If they don't fall into this like providing links to linux isos etc.. (Which are free). can be used I think.

The files are created and published by the users. Because of server resources and other reasons, I require them to upload the files on external filesharing sites. They then publish the download and it's related info on the site, with the download link from the external site

Yes, that type of site would be allowed as long as you understand you're responsible for all content on the site (links users make).

I can use null vbb?

Sure, if you want to lose access to your account permanently and not have access to your hosting account files/database.

It's in the TOS that Warez (which is what nulled software is) isn't allowed. I'd recommend going back and re-reading it since you shouldn'tve even had to ask.
