Once this is fixed and everyone can access what they need what are the chances of it happening again?

Does it happen here from time to time?

It rarely happens. But Corey and the other Admins have done some major upgrades. Once things are all ironed out the servers will go back to being normal. Major upgrades such as these take time to iron out the bugs.
