R1Soft Restore Backups page timing out

Something has happened to our site and now it just shows a blank page (not a php issue, I checked). I'd like to just restore to a few days ago, but the R1Soft page just times out after awhile. I've tried different browsers to no avail.
Is anyone having success with the backup/restore functionality?

i never used that option for my website but i prefer just keeping
a copy of my website on my hard drive instead (just in case)

a blank page could also be a 500 error.

you can still have a php error,
especially if you've edited any code or added new code recently.
