when i try to upload or create files either using ftp or from cpanel it says it is a read only sytem. please could you help me thanks

It seems that all the servers have a problem with file system permissions at the moment.
Staff are aware of the problem.

Sorry, there is no ETA for a fix.

You ,along with many fellow x10 members, are facing Read Only File System (RO-FS)situation.

This issue is expected to be resolved automatically/by staff members.

There isn't an official word on hosting server migration, but it seems there is some misconfiguration big time somewhere.

Only exception till now is STOLI.
