Don't know whether anyone has time to address this kinda' "big picture" question. Everyone seems flat out fighting the alligators ...
But anyway, obviously right now (and for the past few days) things are in disaster mode 'round here. I'm but one of numerous account holders who can't access their webpages. If I were a paying customer, this might be a violent complaint, death threat ;-) or whatever...
But as a user of a totally free service, I'd feel a real heel complaining.
Now I only signed up about a month ago or less. So I don't have much history to go on. But can someone tell me: Are these sorts of service disasters common with x10-adfree, but not with paid accounts? Or are they just as common with x10 paid accounts? Or just as common with webhosting generally? Or, alternatively, have I just chanced to sign up around the time of the once-in-a-millenium apocalypse?
I guess I'm trying to suss out what's a fair expectation of a free service. Is it a case of "get what you pay for" - i.e. If you want a free service, don't expect stellar performance / If you want stellar performance, resign yourself to paying for webhosting. Is that the reality check I need to make? Or alternatively, can I expect that once the current travail is past, 95% bliss will be enjoyed?
thanks.
