Hi,
Im using MySQL Administrator on my dev machine and i cant get it to connect to the x10 MySQL database server. I've tried both the different host names flying about with no luck.

I apreciate that the information might need to be sent via email so here's mine darkkevind @ yahoo.co.uk

Can someone please tell me the following:-

  • MySQL server host
  • My Username to use in connection string
  • My Password to use in connection string
Thanks,
Much appreciated.

Ps. For refence purposes my username to log on to the cPanel is "darkk"

That Remote SQL feature right now is being used by the MySQL server setup that x10Hosting has at the moment. I'm not sure if at one point Remote MySQL was allowed, or if it's going to be opened up (again) for Free Hosting for people to use, but that's really there for no use other than what I mentioned above. The server's firewall will block MySQL attempts from non-x10 servers regardless of what is entered into that page.

Thats annoying, i didnt want to install mySQL on my development machine.

I might create a web service to execute mySQL scripts on my x10 web server and get it to return the result set in XML (with authentication of course!). At least that way i can communicate with the x10 mySQL server from my dev machine. Bit annoying though.

Thanks,
Kev.
