Remote MySQL Database?

I searched around and didn't find anything. Probably due to my lack of understanding of the issue.

I have wordpress installed on my x10hosting.com account however my database is on my home server. My previous host is working with this configuration but the x10hosting sight will not. I get an error from the wordpress install saying that there was an error connecting to the database.

Is this setup not possible with x10hosting or do i need to change settings somewhere?

I am on cossack.

I didn't realize the updates were still underway. I guess I'll just try it again tomorrow. Is There no reason though why this shouldn't work?

There is a big server maintenence undergoing at the moment,

it may be a while till you can access your account or database

This should work as long as you point the connection to your localhosts IP.

But the best time to check this is when the Global Update(MySQL, Issues, Etc.) is completed.

Ok I have a question here. Is it possible to connect to the database from my local system using mysql - h command without using phpmyadmin from cpanel. If so what should one do?
