I agree on the colors: good contrast. Favicon's a bit dark, though. Good luck with the site.

It's better to make your own website, rather than use someone else's template. You learn through trail and error, not copy and paste, or download and unzip. Sure it is a nice website, that's because it's a pre-made template.
