Running out of diskspace error

When I try to log into cpanel in my account it is coming up with the following error:
The filesystem mounted at /home/kdowell on this server is running out of disk space. cPanel operations have been temporarily suspended to prevent something bad from happening. Please ask your system admin to remove any files not in use on that partition.

I was unaware that I was running out of diskspace and it is not letting me go into file manager and delete any unecessary files.
