now that i have my x10 site, those that said they would help me set it up have abandoned me. so unless i can find someone to help me set it up guess ill have to abandon the site
i am trying to set up a text based war strategy game called promisanse. once its set up and i have learned how to start and stop the game (reset happens every month) then im good to go. but as it is i cant even get a forum up

starting and stopping the game once per month would best be done by a cron job (in my opinion), and setting up a forum would best be done by installing it through cPanel (though since the reformat my cPanel says there isn't anything set up in it to get installed), or by finding an OS one online and following the instructions on the site for installing it.

My best suggestion for the other stuff is to either a) ask questions here and hope that someone more compassionate that TheOutfit will respond, or to google what you're trying to do at each stage (as in what you are trying to do with the code), as 8 times out of 10, someone has already done it.

Master i have no problem with being compassionate, Im just saying I wont want to play a game that is run by someone who apparently has no knowledge of coding... imma be playing the exact same game for the next 5 years with no additions??? kinda borin dontcha think

& Heres my tutorial for setting up phpbb2 to show im compassionate:

1.)Download phpbb2.
2.)Unzip it.
3.)Use your favorite FTP manager (i use FileZilla) & login to your ftp account
Yo ushould have one installed. Itll be your CPanel UName & P/W. & The address will be yoursite.exofire.net OR yoursite.x10hosting.com
4.) Find your way to your www folder
5.) Move all the contents of phpbb2 Into your www folder
6.) Wait for them all to transfer.
7.) Now, Go to the dir you installed phpbb2 in Make sure everything is there
8.) Set up a MySql Database if you havent already. For This example, I Will call it Name_Phpbbusers & The UName x10
9.) Go to yoursite.exofire.net/phpbb2/install/installer.php or whereever you installed it
10.) Follow the givin steps, Its not really too hard. But basically your host will be 'localhost' the MySql database will be Name_phpbbusers The MySql username will be your username you made (Name_x10) & password is your User password you set up
