ProjectPier is in the list of installable software, but "There is no info.xml" for it.
Is this a mistake? Or is it not supposed to be there because of it using innodb?

If you are referring to the installation from within Softaculous, I have no experience of it myself - but I believe some people have mentioned that some of the installations don't work properly. Whether or not this is true, I don't know, but it does seem certain that installations using Fantastico have given far less problems.

Anyone else have any experience or advice for rallan?.....

Its not that the installation fails, its that there is no page with the information on it, and the install link, clicking it in the sidebar brings up that error.
