Server Cache Question

I've made edits to a css file through cpanel, yet when I attempt to check on the results it still shows the old css. I've cleared out my browser cache and DNS cache, bu no dice.

I rechecked the file to make sure that I saved correctly (which I did), but 'inspect element' through the browser shows the old css qualities as I suspected.

Is there a way to clear the old files from the server cache, so that my browser will re-cache the new properties?

The "server" will not cache your file - you make a change to it - the next time the "server' is asked for that file - it gives the 'changed' file

After you log-out of [ cPanel ] then log back in to [ cPanel ] --> [ File Manager ] - do you see the changes (edits) ?

Are you using [ CloudFlare ] ?

I can see the change in the file when I log out and log in, but still no reaction to it.

Yes, I'm using CloudFlare. I thought about that, so I checked my log in there to see if I could rebuild the cache on that dashboard but can't find the option. You think that is it?

CloudFlare is really good but I suggest you only get this after you are finished making your site as it caches everything for hours at a time and making changes to certain files and or images is a pain because you can not see the actual changes you make for several hours. I know that there are tons of options and features inside the CloudFlare panel and you can disable or enable what to cache and what no to cache but if you have already started using it and want to disable something, again it will take hours before your new settings go into effect.

You might not be editing the 'right' CSS file or part in it

Wow, you are totally right. I dug a little deeper in my cloudflare settings (it is located BEFORE you go to the dashboards for anyone else trying to find it lol), and I was able to purge that specific file from their cache. viola! It works!

CF has a development mode in it that allows me to make changes for that issue that you spoke about. I think I should start using it in the future...lol
