server EXTREMELY slow!

For the past 2 days now, anything that I do to my site takes an extremely long time to refresh. I have timed page loads in the front end and the backend of up to 1 minute and most often 25 to 30 seconds! This is unacceptable! Control panel is also VERY slow. Is there some problem that is causing this? Is there something in my site that is making the times slow, or is there just too much traffic for the servers to handle? I am trying to make corrections to the site but the long wait times are very frustrating.
I have had problems with FTP limits and the SMTP server connection fails from my email client. I sounds to me like there are server issues, but I get no response from support in almost 24 hours.
Anyone have any clue about what is going on?

If you are on chopin, there have been a few delays while they are moving the servers, although that is generally causing non-functionality rather that tardyness. To see if it something to do with your site, think if you have added anything to the site 2 days ago that could have caused it, either a large script or maybe some large files such as pictures that are taking time to download. If you provide a link to your site we may be able to help determine if there is something up with your site, or if it's the server.

Thanks but I am on cossacks and supposedly there are no problem there, but with what I am having I think there is something not working. I can't get any SMTP ports to work for email either.
