Server firewall blocking countries?

Hi, my site is not opening for me (neither CPanel or FTP access), it only does through proxy-avoidance. That means that the most probably thing it's happening is the server firewall blocking the IP range from my ISP or country.

So please add my ISP IP range to the server firewall.

I also would like to add: The new configuration you did to the server firewall is blocking a lot of countries? I'm getting worried because our sites won't be "global" anymore. My friends having other ISP different from mine, will be having troubles visiting my site? Why are you having this "paranoic policy" on the firewall? Are you expecting all the people to come here and ask for "Server firewall IP unblocking?

I'm just worried, that's all. You do a great service as well.

I have ad-free plan on Cossacks server.
My connection is from Colombia

Your site loads fine but I think as you said you might be experiencing this problem to a blocked IP. Did you try connecting from a proxy? Corey will be along to confirm if it is an IP address problem or not....

Yes GamingX, I can access my site through proxy-avoidance.

I hope Corey unlock the whole IP range from Colombia (where my visitors are mainly from). Why the firewall server started to block many people/isp/country ips? I'm saying this because I've seen many other threads experimenting the same issue, not counting the people who don't use the forum to tell the problem, I hope it doesn't , but some people may think x10 servers are down all the time, and we all know it's not that way. =(

My site is up/down/up/down... Proxy avoindance always works for me when it is down. :confused:

Corey, can you please answer... are you making some test with the server firewall or something.. my friends are getting blocked too?

I'm having the same problem here as well, I can access the site normally using a proxy but not directly as it supposed to be.

For example, I can access my site using this proxy:

http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://venice.x10hosting.com/

But when I try accessing normally using:

http://venice.x10hosting.com/

I get this error:

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at venice.x10hosting.com.

I agree with the thread starter, this problem can be very damaging, maybe many other people from many places in the world will not be able to access my site as well because of this IP blocking policy, so my site won't be global anymore.

I hope you can do something about this.

just posting to say i've also been having this problem. Corey said he adjusted the firewall and it should be working in my thread the other day, but it hasn't been. he mentioned something about it being because the servers firewall downloads blacklist updates and if your ip is on them you'll be blocked from connecting to your website (you can check if you're blacklisted here: http://www.whois.sc/ )

i hope they can find a fix for it soon, it's obviously not a problem with anyones computer, we've flushed our dns, cleared cache, restarted modem/routers/computers multiple times and nothing has worked. :(

edit: just thought i'd include this: i can also connect to everyones websites listed in this thread, except for my own. ( lvm.x10hosting.com ) other people can connect to mine as well. the only way for me to connect has been through proxy (as tons of people with this problem have been saying) although randomly throughout the day i will find periods of time that it lets me connect without a proxy (also said in one of the thread starters posts) but then it eventually goes back to blocking me for a few hours.

Yes, it's exactly the same problem I'm having. Right now I can't access my site. But through a proxy -avoidance I can.

Thanks for the link, but, anyway, my IP address is not blacklisted there. =(

Account managers here seems to be tied to help us, because in this case, only the admin can do something to fix that.

I hope the previous firewall configuration can be migrated as well to the new server, because this one is giving us tons of "headaches". :eek4:

I'm with you guys, Corey unblocked some of the IPs in my country but not all of them and that was really bad for me.

I have had a couple people saying that they could not connect to the forums i have up too. I'm guessing this problem might be related to this?

nobody seems to have any idea why this is happening or how to fix it but based on this i'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with our systems, correct me if i'm wrong though, because i don't see any reason why it could be us when we have no previous problems connecting to anything else, and in my case i haven't changed any settings on my computer since this happened nor do i have any sort of website blocking apps.

i appreciate all the work you guys do to make this the best free hosting i've ever seen, so sorry if this seems like an attack on what you guys are doing because i don't mean that at all, but this is just getting very frustrating :/

Thats true. The guide is only help full if you have to work on the site, or if you don't have many visitors. But the point is that its blocking ip ranges and most people still can get on the site.
