Hey first of all I would like to say that I've been a member before and really enjoyed the hosting here. There are very few free hosts that off such great packages AND have as fast of servers as you guys. There are some but not many and I would just as soon stay with you!
I just signed up for a new account again for you guys on the 14th, actually very late on the 14th so it's almost the 15th in reality. I moved my forum I'm developing over onto my new server with you guys after wards and have been pleasantly surprised with the speed. Btw i'm on your Cossacks.x10 server.
However I would like to know when you guys are going to fix your server load/ Apache HTTP issues. I hate to say that I'm thinking about switching hosts already right before my new opening of the site because of the constant issues I'm having.
Since I'm testing out my new configurations I have been on the site VERY often the past 24 hours and have noticed that my site has been down at least 4 times, twice for about an hour each and a couple times for less than an hour, though still long enough to be noticeable. Now I know that "technically" the Apache HTTP being offline and broken doesn't constitute the whole server being rated as being down, ( i can still access FTP and the backend) BUT it does render the website unreachable on WWW... which in my opinion really counts as the same thing. Now I'm going to be nice here and say that I've had my site up from the 14th all the way to the future today in the 16th (adding 22 hours) for my calculations while in reality my account and these issues were only encountered in a 24 hour period.
Even with my mass additions of future site up time my site's up time is coming to around 94% and is still dropping. I'm sure that in reality it's much lower than that (probably in the 80s)
I know it's not fair to base siteup time on 1 24 hour period, so i"m not asking you guys to change your 99.9% uptime gurantee, I just think that if you 've been having problems with keeping the servers up and are no longer able to rightfully claim 99.9% uptime then either something should be done to reachieve this goal, OR you should remove this claim from your pages...
I looked around on the forums for a long time before I decided to post this just to see how long people have been having problems and what has been going on. I wouldn't have gone ahead with it if I hadn't noticed a string of complaints over the last few weeks related to server uptime. I gather that you recently merge a few servers together and that has been causing problems, though the post didn't mention my server at all (Cossacks.x10 )
I'm sure everything I'm saying here isn't news to you either, I'm know what the IT field is like and you probably have people "banging on your door" all the time for various valid and numerous ridiculous reasons too. I just would like to know if there are any steps being taken to try and remedy the Apache issue with my server and the related downtime. I'm glad to be back in the community here once again and I want to see it continue to do well so I guess you could just call me a concerned citizen
