Setting Permissions

I know there are different permission levels you can set on files on your website.
If you want the site to be able to access a file, like a graphic, but you don't want people viewing the site to be able to download it, or like a music file - you want them to be able to hear it through some player in the web page, but not to download it, is that possible, and what would you set the permissions to?

You can't exactly block people from downloading a file.
For blocking music, use a player that doesn't need to pull up the song using the user's browser which will allow you to put it outside of your public_html folder.

I have to check if my player would do that. But how would I direct the player to the file? And when you say "a player that doesn't need to pull up the song using the user's browser" that means a player that doesn't have the file in the html codeing?
