Setting up SMF

I'm having trouble setting up SMF...I've set all the permissions to 777 FULL permissions. Its let me connect, but when i get there. It gives me a bunch of connect errors. I prolly sound like a nub, but i'm just getting started. Please help me.

do not set chmod to 777 it's very risky. Verify your mysql informations and previleges on your cpanel.

The servers do not allow permissions set to 777. Try setting them to 755. Post back and let us know if that did anything or if it gave you another error.

Also, if you haven't already - please login to you account management panel ( www.x10hosting.com/account ) with your FORUM name and password and upgrade your PHP to version 2. This may take up to 10 hrs to complete ( script runs every 6 hrs )
