site and cpanel not showing for me

every time i upload wih core ftp in the middle of uploading it stops and say unable to connect then my site and cpanel stop showing up for me everyone else can see the site just not me it only happens when i upload i tried clearing the cache and dns cache and all of the above but i have to wait a couple of hours and then it lets me on.
ps i turned off my firewall too

What are you using for an FTP program? If someone opens too many connections to the server within a short amount of time (I believe 100 connections) the firewall blocks them for a period of time.

core ftp and i only connect once but im uploading a large file

it tends to make many requests, therefore it problably got caught in the firewall then
