Hi! I know that there have been quite a few "internal server error" posts, but this one is slightly different

I've checked all of my permissions, but my site still sometimes asks me for a password,

this is the error that you get when you open it:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@btphotography.x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.8b mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at btphotography.x10hosting.com Port 80

and here is my error log:

[Sun Mar 23 12:55:47 2008] [error] [client 66.87.68.43] (13)Permission denied: Could not open password file: /home/borist/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.pwd
(repeated many many times)

the secret is in the service.pwd file, but i have no idea what to do with it... because i simply dont want my site password protected.. any help?

thanks to all!

Try removing the front page extensions, and if you need to use them, readd them

In your cPanel there is a place to install\uninstall front page extensions. She is telling you to uninstall them.

Also try clearing the file called .htaccess in your public_html folder if there is nothing in it you need. (Back it up first).

I've tried both, but nothing seems to help.. is there any way to simply reset my account, and I can just re-upload all of my files?

thanks

I changed some of your file permissions and removed some entries from your .htaccess

I can now see your site.
