Site Idea?

Hi,

I'm creating a social forum type thing. It'll be a general forum where you can talk about anything.

I'm installing everything now and will post it in the Review My Site shortly.

I'm wondering if anyone would want to help out with the site? Maybe be a moderator / admin or something? Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I can't wait to get this started!

P.S. The site won't be slow, I have the largest VPS package .

What exactly will be the purpose of your social forum? Please post more details

Well, it's just going to be a public place to discuss various things -- anything! That's what I like about the idea, it isn't focused on one thing? The goal of the site would be to provide a place for people to talk and share ideas.

Just some of the topics would include: debates, technology, games, videos, movies, music, development, etc...

If you are trying to create just an ordinary forum, sorry to say but it would a painful task to survive.The thing is that this world wide web is already flooded with Forums.It would be nice if you could create something similar to mylot.com. Am not sure which scripts they are using.But you should have a look at them.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll be looking into it. I'm pretty good with PHP, it shouldn't be too hard to custom code that. Once the community grows some more, I may implement something like that.

I don't really see why anyone would want to use your forum... There is no appeal to it. It doesn't focus on anything, it doesn't attract a certain group and nothing about it seems too extraordinary.

I'd rethink your idea. ;P
