i am not exactly sure if this is where i post this but, i am new here, can someone tell me how i can see how many visitors i am getting to my site? i bet there is already a thread about this and if so sorry, but my search was fruitless

Also, if you have your own website, put the link into your signature. Google loves links and will help you get your website onto google really quickly.

Another tip is make your own sitemap at http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ and submit it to http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools.

That will help you with google search engine.

On your CPanel, check your Awstats. Lots of info there.

Awstats I have to admit is really good, but have you tried google analytics. That gives a lot of information and lets you customize the reports and helps you make goals which motivate you to get more traffic.
