I installed SMF 1.1.3 today and downloaded and installed mods to place advertisement mentioned on This page. I tried those two mods, Ad Management as well as Global Headers and Footers mod. I also got a confirmation message saying those plugins were installed successfully. But I can't see any one of them showing up under Configuration menu in Admin Panel and because of that I'm unable to add ad on the forum.

Please help :happysad:

Info:
cPanel user name : rajd
Subdomain/domain : http://experiencev.x10hosting.com
Hosting package : Advanced Plan.

Link to my SMF installation : http://experiencev.x10hosting.com/community

Thanks in advance.

It's easy..

Go to the index.template file

Before the <?php just put the code... I recommend you tu use the <div align="center">CODE</div> To put it on the center and Lets it be seen cooler =D

Good luck!

What is your language of your forum set at. ? Go into your server settings in the admin panel to check what language you are using between english and english utf-8 If you are using utf-8 then this is why you did not see anything in the admin panel about the mods you installed. If you switch back to english then you should see them. If you are on the english language then all the edits didnt get installed right for the mods you installed..

Sounds like he can't find the control panels for the mods he installed to me:

But I can't see any one of them showing up under Configuration menu in Admin Panel and because of that I'm unable to add ad on the forum.

That's not always true but it could be the problem if if does in fact have a custom theme installed. Then the edits from the mods he installed would have to be done manually to the theme he is using. Sometimes people that install SMF want to use utf-8 language sets, this is not always good because most mods only support the straight english language set.

My primary aim was to get the ads on the forum asap. Thanks to Kansy, I finally got that ad to display. But I still don't see my mods listed in Configuration menu, so I'll try what Geoff suggested and see what happens :)

btw, when I installed and tried to use the mods, I had the forums set to the default theme. Only after getting the ads on the page after editing the index.template file, did I change the theme to the current one :)

You're a genius :) :p. It worked. I changed the language to English and I have got both those mod settings displayed in the configuration menu :D

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it :)
