no matter what every time i visit my site on SMF it always (randomly) displays a blank page. Usually if you are not logged in. Or logging in. I have tried using the auto installer - that is useless because it displays blank pages and it wont let me install mods. I have tried using the manual install - which is now really buggy.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times now and it always does it.
Permissions are 777
I think it is due to the server.

NO i am not resorting to PHPbb because it is impossible to get mods for them - or install mods.

Requiring desperate help please!!!!

Try 755 for the permissions, 777 is not nessesary.

Also if that doesn't work check and see if your files are owned by apache instead of you. If that is the case Corey or another admin will have to re-own them for you. If 777 is not allowed here for permissions then that would likely be the case, As rpope904 says change permissions to 755. Check the ownership though just in case.

Upgrade your PHP version! A simple search of the forums would have solved your problem quickly.

Yeah. They can. On default their version is set to basic, if they feel the need to upgrade they can upgrade to Intermediate and in extraordinary cases, Advanced.
