smf problem

hi i installed smf but i want to login like and i get blanc screen
error log :

Looks like you need a PHP version upgrade to allow exec(). I'm not great with PHP, so don't quote me on that though.

i already upgraded from basic to intermediate :|

edit: god i fixed it i dont understand why you can install it with fantastico while you have to disable half the lines in subs.php :|

If you installed with Fantastico then you should check and make sure your language is not set to utf8 or you will have more problems installing modifications to it.
