SMTP emails for apps - zencart

I am getting
"
Email Error: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
2006 MySQL server has gone away"

when I am trying to send email from admin , Tools -> Send email

Here is my site
digulu.x10hosting.com

Smtp username = myUsername+digulu.x10hosting.com (also try myUsername@digulu.x10hosting.com)
[FONT=&quot]Incoming Mail Server: mail.digulu.x10hosting.com[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Outcoming Mail Server: mail.digulu.x10hosting.com[/FONT]
Port : 26
(I also tried port = 465 ..same issue)
Is this correct? (I didn't setup ssl yet )
I searched and searched. I still have no clue.

Can you guys please help?

The error is apparently with the database server. Let it rest some time and try again later. Usually it solves the problem with the database server, which should solve your problem with the SMTP server as well.

I am still getting same error....tried it this morning again.
Please help.. I don't know how to troubleshoot.
I don't think this is error is with mysql....
