How is the server sometime so slow? Is there a way I can sort it? I can't always connect to ftp because of it

Since this is free hosting, there are many many users on the servers and the slowness is sometimes caused by high server load due to the number of users as well as server abuse. These problems are usually temporary and resolve themselves quickly.
