Rejigging my site (colourmusic.x10host.com), I've looked a little into SSL. Maybe I don't need it. (It's a non-commercial site, with no public interaction other than look and read.)
But maybe Princess Google might smile more kindly upon an https, and bump me up her list.

LetsEncrypt certificates look good. (They're FREE!)
They say it depends on the host, so does x10hosting allow them?
Otherwise, I think DirectAdmin has a button for them...
Dunno.

Any advice?

P.S. Just noticed a 2021 thread from garrettroyce on the subject, & maybe I'll take this to the Discord channel....

SSL's are included for free! Visit your directadmin panel and check out the Account manager > SSL tab. You will want to utilize the "Get automatic certificate from ACME Provider" provisioning.

Thanks Eric,
I just checked that out (it's the first button). There's a check box at the bottom saying "Force SSL with https redirect"; I'm wondering about any implications that has for Google search, etc. Anyhow, I'm on the Discord channel at the moment, pestering people with my worries...
