Looks very nice. Glad to see they didn't mess with the old star craft formula to much. Hope the requirements arent to steep for my computer. If not i'll be glad to get some closeure on some of the brood wars storylines.

Thanks for the info!

I don't think theres a set release date, but who knows how long Blizzard's had this in production as well. It could very well be a late '07 release just in time for Xmas if they wanted (I'd lean towards not though; that'd require some rushing, and that kills games faster than viruses kill computers).

In any case, I have just two words for Blizzard:

ZERG RUSH!

Thank you

The game has been in development since 2003, and may have been further along had World of Warcraft not impacted the development process to a degree. Today, StarCraft 2's development team is around 40 members strong, with several other teams around Blizzard helping out here and there.

So roughly going on 4 years in development now, that's a decent amount of time.

Hmm, it could very well be released late 07 then. Dunno if it's a smart idea development wise (dunno how far is left to go or how big the to-do list is), but it could be possible.

Did like this comment though in that article:

StarCraft 2 will release when it's ready, says Blizzard.
With any luck they'll stick by that instead of rushing it out the door. StarCraft isn't something you'd want to rush and have filled with bugs, especially when it's got as much publicity as it's got right now ;)

Yeah, definitely. Blizzard is known for always holding back from releasing games until they're "polished", completely finished, etc. Hopefully it's that way for StarCraft 2.

hells yea they are they spent like 40-40 million dollars on development for WoW while others spent less than 20 on mmorpgs i believe. but shoot if they spend that much id want it to be polished. hopefully they will keep this free online play on bnet...i mean all the money they have in reserve and what they continually make from WoW and if they arent careful they might take a dip when warhammer comes out...

I hope blizzard takes as long as it needs, just glad they decided to start development again. Don't think it will be as painful as waiting for valve to make tf2 (now theres a game thats taking a long time) and hl ep 2. What i really don't want to see is the hero system from warcraft 3 implemented

The trailer looked up to blizzard's high standards. Found it extremely funny when the marine says "Hell, Its about time" considering how long its been since the first one. The welding of the power armor on brought back memories of fallout 2 (probably one of my favorite games) and New Reno with the npcs asking the player "how do you take a leak in that thing?".

Well, one good thing is that games created by Blizzard had very wise minimal system requirements (if I remember correctly). Let's hope that this will be a case with StarCraft III cause I would hate to switch to new hardware just to play one game.

I think the delayed release award rightfully belongs to Duke Nukem Forever and compared, TF2 and HL:EP2 are like an afternoon.

As for the actual game, I liked the cinematic and hopefully they do a much more intense one before the actual release as they are known to be the cinematic kings (probably why they're making a cinematic movie, lol). The actual game is something I don't need to play, I've already played Starcraft and Warcraft 3. It's much faster and cheaper for me to imagine SC on a WC3 engine variant.

I watched the screenshots in the sc2 web page and I think the requirements will be very similar to the age of empires III requirements
