I am using Simple Machines. I am at the installation step, and where I need to type in the server name I put 'stoli.x10', apparently, it's not working, because after a long loading period, the page goes to an error saying
"
Cannot connect to the MySQL database server with the supplied data.

If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host.

Lost connection to MySQL server during query"

Im not sure if it has to do with the Stoli.x10, but I think it does. Is there a way to fix this at the moment?

The server is working correctly, check your connection details.

Alright, thats weird...
Well, I got SMF, and I put:
MySQL server name: Stoli.x10
MySQL username: acevamp2_acevamp
MySQL Password: .......
MySQL Database: acevamp2_simplemachines
MySQL Prefix: acevamp2_

In the remote MySQL thing, I added my ip address to the hosts, and 'localhost'.
I also made a database called simplemachines

What am I doing wrong?

Your IP address may be blocked by the Firewall, as we block remote connections, unless Corey adds your IP to the firewall white list.

Change your host to localhost instead of stoli.x10hosting.com

it is not correct to configure stolo.x10hosting.com, you only need to put localhost , that one is working for sure

Then your database details are incorrect ;) Double check:

1.)Created a database
2.)Created a user (Not your cPanel user).
3.)Assigned the correct permissions for the user to the database.

If you're using software on the server the database server will always be localhost. The only time you would use something different is if you were trying to access a database on another server.

Damn, that's what I was afraid of.
Okay, maybe you can tell me what's going on, because I can't find any faults.

My username to log in the MAIN site is acevampire
My username to the control panel is acevamp2

and here is a pic of my databases and such. Maybe you can spot out something wrong?

On your first post you said your database was acevamp2_simplemachines

On your screen shot your user does not have permission to that database, it has permission to acevamp2_smf

You are getting the error because your databases are empty, you need to go through the installation.
