I use (and thank you for) your Free Hosting because I don't monetize the site and don't anticipate a lot of traffic.
However, during the past 4 days I've seen a tremendous amount of traffic on my website, and it appears every page on my site is being systematically visited (and, I suspect, cached) by a number of hosts, with each visit lasting only 1-5 seconds. (Fig. 1).
I expect less than 25 hits per day, but I've seen 1,041 visits on one day, over 400 today (Fig. 2).
Is this AI? Someone slurping my site? Search engine bot? Other? It's *very* frustrating.
And, how would I control such activity? At the moment I modified htaccess to redirect all links to a 503 Error.
Thanks in advance for any help / comments / suggestions!
