Just found my website has been suspended for: violation of x10hosting's terms of service. details: cgi - telnet is prohibited from x10hosting servers.

This is complete nonsense as I havent a clue what cgi - telnet is let alone use it on my very simple one page site.

Admins deal with this asap.

Thanks

That indicates that there is/was a CGI script on your site using telnet -- a remote-control terminal protocol used to control other computers. How did it get there? That's usually a matter of somebody getting your account password (if you're not using one of the various CMS or forum platforms that are regularly exploited). The entire content of your account is your responsibility, including safeguarding your password (which means that accessing your hosting account using public, weakly-encrypted or stolen wi-fi is probably a really bad idea). However, there is a suspension appeals process accessible from your account portal; that works much better than an indignant "deal with it", although there are no guarantees.

In case anyone stumbles here as well, the OP's account was indeed compromised quite heavily (it actually erased all files in public_html prior to uploading a -ton- of malware to it). They have been unsuspended.

Edit: As a side note, the fact that the user was on Prime has nothing to do with the unsuspension; in cases where a user claims to have had no knowledge of the malware on the account we do investigate the issue further to attempt to determine if it was indeed a compromise, or if it was intentional. This one was clear-cut - everything pointed towards a particularly malicious compromise.
