Suspension suggestion

The only way the website owner knows that his site is suspended is by logging into x10 one of the ways allowed.

Is it possible to incorporate a feature that will send the owner an email notifying the user of the suspension. Also it would be nice if on the suspension page it contained a contact email for the owner of the site so that website users can inform the owner that their site is down or contact them for support.

Some of us have been losing a good amount of traffic because of this.

Thanks in advance,
dgodfather

Don't break the rules and login to the forums every two weeks, that eliminates the problem right there.

This has already been discussed. The owner will know if the site is down only when he regularly logs onto his own site. Though I like the recommendation of including the email address on the suspension page so that users can inform the owner of the site.

I agree with this suggestion. I was suspended for 'no-ads' when in all truth, my ads were just misplaced and that cost me 7 days of work due to their error in communication.

Its something that really REALLY irritated me. I disputed the 'no-ads' suspension as I KNEW that I had placed them on my page only to have my suspension increased due to one of the moderators inept abilities.

With this system in place, I would have been notified IMMEDIATELY when my site was suspended and maybe I could have gotten a correct reason as for my suspension.

I just think that each of the mods (not all mods mind you, there are a few token 'bad ones'.) should know how to deal with 'customer service' a little better. Just my own little suggestion.

We can not do the Email thing because we suspend quite a few accounts per day. The problem is people mark these Emails as SPAM at Yahoo, Google, etc... then all x10 Emails going to Yahoo, Google, Hotmail end up being blocked because these people who were suspended marked our Emails as SPAM.

Also, we would not be able to post the owners Email address because of privacy\security reasons.

Do uou have to post as well? Because I just got suspended and I could swear I'd logged in recently.

Aw, my posts aren't high-quality? :(
That's an isolated case, if you'd like you may dispute it using the proper method, but for most cases when you're suspended for inactivity you're just inactive.

This seems kind of random. That can happen/happens to all companies. What is the difference with x10?

Wouldn't it only be blocked by the user until it got a massive number of spam warrants?

Also, we would not be able to post the owners Email address because of privacy\security reasons.
How about a button or something that will inform the owner?

yea I agree... they need to let us know - some of us have the unexciting job of managing numerous sites.
however, like the saying YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...I mean, it's free - the next best suggestion would be to frickin pay for an account. DUh...

Thanks X10 - I appreciate the 'free-ness'

hypno: It just means that you have still not put up your website. You have to change the default index page within 7 days of creating an account.

When we review accounts we review the main domain name. Which in your case is http://juggaloaudio.x10hosting.com/ we then access sub-domains such as forums and what have you. If the main site does not have an index in place it gets suspended. Without having a site that tells us you have a forum we do not know.

FORWARDED TO THE FREE HOSTING FORUMS
u can delete this if u please, sorry for posting it in here,, my bad

I had my forums working just fine about a month ago, but then all this error stuff started happening with the site, and it never worked right for some reason, and i would just get error messages when i tried to access my forum site, i dont know if all of the forums and topics i had on there are still there or not because i cant even access the forums i created on there, or even login to my forums control pannel and see what members i had join up and what not

i dont know what is wrong with it still, i have a friend working on it for me right now to see if things can be fixed...

he says:
I fixed what needed to be fixed but it's still not working.
The problem now is with the data bases
the mysql database server is still down, can't install until it's fixed
I'm uploading an IPB forum for your X10 site, should be up and running shortly

I will try to make it work and stuff but i really dont know what im doing with all the database stuff really
when i try to install the IPB thing myself i dont know what i need to put for a database name or SQL username and password either and when i just type in sumthing and try to go to the next step it just says:

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

no idea what is wrong, if anyone knows please send me a private message and explain everything i need to know how to install it. Thanks

also,You currently have an application pending for PHP version 3.

any way i can get that fixed too?? I requested a while back, but nothing happened yet, my friend says I really need the version 3 to make things work i believe
Please help me Thank you guys, I know u have lots more to worry about than my measly problems, but i would really appreciate it. MCL
Edit:
sorry to make 2 posts in a row,, but i think i got my main domain page working right now http://juggaloaudio.x10hosting.com/

but now the link to my forums has a 404 error message
http://juggaloaudio.x10hosting.com/forums

if anyone can go into my database and fix all the stuff for me i would appreciate it

Ok since you are just running forums look for this. On the main page of the cPanel if you scroll down you will notice a section that has all the databases and look for remote mysql. Click on that and add a new access host called %.x10hosting.com. Then go to the File Manager/Forums and look for a file that says(or something similar) config.php. In that file which looks similar to this , do the following(this is a phpbb example)
Code:
<?php

$dbms = 'mysql' ;

$dbhost = 'localhost' ;
$dbname = 'chris73_phpb1' ;
$dbuser = 'chris73_phpb1' ;
$dbpasswd = 'Special Password here' ;

$table_prefix = 'phpbb_' ;

define ( 'PHPBB_INSTALLED' , TRUE ) ;

?>

Change it to this
Code:
<?php

$dbms = 'mysql' ;

$dbhost = 'mysql.x10hosting.com' ;
$dbname = 'chris73_phpb1' ;
$dbuser = 'chris73_phpb1' ;
$dbpasswd = 'Special password here' ;//no need to change this. I did just to show you

$table_prefix = 'phpbb_' ;

define ( 'PHPBB_INSTALLED' , TRUE ) ;

?>

After doing the above do this for the link url.

Try this Code for the Linked Image Url
Code:
<a href="http://juggaloaudio.x10hosting.com/forums/" target="_self"> <img border="0" src="http://www.flipdrive.com/file/70f81a0e44707e1f9998665d37b4.JPG" width="696" height="347" alt="Juggalo Audio Forums" /> </a>
