So on the free hosting section on forum there is always like over 30+ posts a day of people saying Why am I suspended, I shouldnt be suspended, your wrong. Now atleast 95% of the time of what I have seen lately is they are all wrong and have no idea what they are talking about. SO I was thinking, to save staff the time and agony, why not inforce that if you have not checked and make a post and your wrong, you get a warning?

What do you all have to say?

I say fine with me. I'm a teenager...I know everything  Teenagers know everything...so if I'm wrong then I can't be because I know I'm right. Its a confusing concept...you just have to be a teenager

SENOR is a teen and so am i, but i'm not all like "I'm right cuz i'm 15" or whatever, i don't care if i'm wrong, i'm just like w/e but yes, that sounds like a pretty good idea SENOR but it should be more like a one-day ban or something i'm thinking, if they can't use the search function, then who will!?!?!?!?!?!

Well, if they dispute their suspension and are found wrong their suspension time is either reset or 3 more days are added on.

i don't know what to say..
i think .. it's better to send a message to all members if there's any news... and new rules..

after this.. if someone did wrong, then he would deserve a warning or something like that

OK I think SENOR has a pretty interesting concept here. I think that they should be warned, or banned for a day, because I am also getting sick and tired of people complaining about why they are suspended.

I think that is what the "Find out why your suspended page" was invented for, to stop this sort of thing, but people don't seem to be paying attention!

That is my oppinion

Zenax

well im not worried about it really, but is there any way to keep them from showing up in the new posts page? how bout if you did them like the staff apps? make it where only you and they can see it? that seems like it would solve the problem.

I have a question: Do posts in that forum count? I say don't make them count for points or something.

maybe they should require like three extra steps in the signup process just saying in really big letters:

IF YOU ARE SUSPENDED, YOU GO TO THIS PAGE and IF YOU ARE SUSPENDED DO NOT ASK WHY! and maybe: YOU WILL BE REVOKED OF YOUR POSTING PRIVILIGES FOR A DAY IF YOU CLEARLY DO NOT READ THE NEWS AND/OR ASK WHY YOU WERE SUSPENDED

idk, just an idea, usually shouting helps people understand :p

As a account manager who has to resond to the posts I know exactly what you mean. I think we should also have a popup or something that automaticaly takes the user to the news so we don't get "the ftp is down" million threads ect. Also then when we do warn them about not searching they don't have an accuse.

^_^ I also like Chris's idea about a big huge thing like that

here's another idea....although i'm not sure how much coding it would be and if it would be intensive, or just easy, but anyway, here's another plan, we create a user group on the forums called "Suspended Hosting Account" or something, and that way it would automatically email them to tell them that their account has been suspended when it demotes them and it could restrict their posts to the suspended account forum and it would give them a popup when they login next including that "check.php" file and tell them to type in their username to find out their reason and acknowledge it or w/e and not let them do anything else until they see that :) just one of my brilliant ideas..haha jk, but like i said, i'm not sure how much coding this would take, it seems like it would be a lot though!

I like the sound of a pop-up letting people know what their account status is etc. It dshould also perhaps contain the server status as well, so that it stops people from complaining about the server being down and what not.

I would have the pop-up appear on perhaps the index page after someone has logged in or something.

Then again, if this idea was to work, people would have to disable thei pop-up blockers, so maybe an iframe at the top of the index page or something, that refreshes say every half an hour?

Just an idea....

Zenax

I like that idea. The popup news announcement was already thought of but for some reason it never gets used.

a. thats a JAVASCRIPT message dialog...which can be shut off (User CP > Edit Options > Messaging & Notification > Diclick the last option and those annoying opoups will shut off

b. If that were the case Zenax, I would request for it to be optional because i dont ***** when sometjing dont work...that would totaly ruin the forums, like having the Private Message Dialog to show up...its just ****** ** dude...

I Believe that everyone including teens need to be responsable for things in their lives, including keeping stuff, including checking up on thing to keep them out of trouble such as checking the forums and maybe post some posts. But that totally at their discression, if they want good things they have to keep commitments

Well, my account was just suspended, and they made it pretty clear why. I can't imagine why so many people would have a problem with this.
